Efficient repairs for a leaking holiday apartments roof

Minimal guest interruption for the Gold Coast’s Markham Court

When a Broadbeach holiday apartment complex’s roof began leaking, its committee weren’t surprised. The apartment building was more than twenty years old, and its roof had been neglected for some time.

Eventually the complex’s maintenance team had stopped painting the building, simply because the leak and its ongoing damage was so bad.

It seemed that replacement of the waterproof membrane was needed – yet the job would become more complicated.

The existing tiles and bedding had to be ripped up, the waterproof membrane replaced, and new tiles and bedding installed. The R&BS team went to work.

Markham Court’s Director Wilf Maillet said, “When choosing a contractor, our committee did quite a bit of research – but we felt we just couldn’t trust many of the companies that we approached to do a good job.”

Of course, performing maintenance work on an operational apartment complex comes with its own unique set of challenges. The R&BS team were able to work with flexibility to overcome this.

“We had to stay open to our guests throughout the period, but R&BS helped out by working on the sections we asked them to at certain times,” Wilf said. “They understood that we still needed to make a profit.”

Wilf and the committee were so satisfied with their experience that they contracted R&BS to carry out another job at the complex – and will continue to use them for other jobs in the future.

“We’ve just requested that R&BS carry out another big job on our building – this time replacing the balustrade. Again, their price was extremely competitive, and there’s the added bonus of dealing with a company we’ve worked with previously.
